Tokyo Day 4: Last day in Tokyo, and off to Kyoto

Our last day in Tokyo was beautiful - We started off the day right with the breakfast of champions at the Tsukiji fish market: sushi and beer at 8:00am, and only had to wait in line an hour before getting in!
The Tsukiji fish market is the largest wholesale fish market in all of Japan and one of the largest, if not the largest in the world!

I unfortunately didn't take any photos of the fish market, so you'll just have to take me at my word that it was smelly but cool.

Next up: Bullet train to Kyoto! Here are some photos from the Tokyo Station and train ride:

Ok so that was exciting. After the bullet train took us to Kyoto Terminal, we took a 30 minute cab ride to our hotel, then went for a walk around in a park nearby and the main street with all the restaurants and shops and etc.

Kyoto is a lot bigger than I thought it would be. It is the old capital of Japan, and the population (UN Data, and as of 2010) is 1.474 million. The hotel is away from all the hustle and bustle and in a very quiet part of town. Also right next to the river and a park called Kameyama Koen, inside the park is a famous bamboo forest.

This is a statue in the park by the hotel of a woman named
Tsuzaki Muraoka-no-Tsubone who was an imperial loyalist
and was exiled during political upheaval. She was sent to a
temple in Saga where she educated local children.
